Our goal as a structural engineering consultant is to develop an efficient building system that meets the needs and desires of the project. We communicate with the design team to produce well thought-out building systems. We seek to adapt our approach to our client’s vision for the project.
Forensic Investigation
Our three step investigative approach, Investigate, Analyze, and Solve, is instrumental in successfully diagnosing and retrofitting existing structures.
Investigate - The structure is researched and information is gathered to assess the existing condition of the structure.
Analyze - The desired modifications are incorporated into the design of the existing structure and evaluated for strength, serviceability, and compliance to current building codes.
Solve - Once the system has been analyzed, the most practical retrofit solution is selected. The final structural solution is based on constructability issues, time restraints, and construction costs.
Due Diligence Reviews
As a service to our client, we provide due diligence reviews of structural systems to assist in litigation resolution and the peer review process. SYKES understands the importance of thorough investigations and produces timely reviews.
Feasibility Studies
We assist our clients in determining the cost effectiveness for construction by analyzing various building systems.
